Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp recipe was part of our snacky snack dinner the other night.
And I’m still drooling, um..uh..dreaming about it!
Snacky dinners around here are fun nights where I make a bunch of small, random snacks and appetizers and we all just pig out and laugh.
Usually that’s a typical weekend thing, but since it’s the week of Christmas it’s been an every night thing this week.

How to make Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Homemade bang bang sauce is very simple to make.
Whisk together mayo, sweet Thai chili sauce, and Sriracha.
Next up is breading the shrimp. I wanted a light breading so I went with flour.
We have a pound of jumbo shrimp that’s been peeled and deveined.
A bowl of flour seasoned with salt and pepper. And one beaten egg.
Set up the breading station right next to the air fryer basket like this…
Dip each shrimp into the egg, then into the flour to coat evenly.
Then place the shrimp in the air fryer basket. Yes, it’s a messy job but well worth it 🙂
Spray some olive oil cooking spray over top of the shrimp.
And set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 12 minutes, shake the basket halfway through cooking.
The last step before you get to enjoy these Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp is tossing them with the sauce in a bowl.
We tossed them with about three quarters of the sauce and used the rest for dipping.
A little sprinkle of green onion over top adds some freshness and pop of color.

Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp has a very light breading, it's cooked to crispy perfection in the air fryer, and served with a homemade bang bang sauce!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayo (or light mayo)
- 1/3 cup sweet Thai chili sauce
- 2 Tbsps Sriracha (more or less depending on spice preference)
- 1 pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup flour
- kosher salt, pepper
- 1 egg
- olive oil cooking spray (I used Pam olive oil spray)
- Optional: green onions for garnish
Instructions
-
In a small bowl whisk together the mayo, sweet Thai chili sauce, and Sriracha to make the Bang Bang Sauce.
-
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
-
Put the flour in a small bowl and season with kosher salt and pepper. Beat the egg in a separate bowl.
-
Dip each shrimp in the egg and then coat with the flour. Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray the olive oil cooking spray over top of the shrimp.
-
Set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 12 minutes, shake the basket halfway through cooking.
-
Remove the shrimp from the basket and toss it in a bowl with some of the bang bang sauce. Serve with the remaining bang bang sauce on the side and garnish with green onions if desired.
