Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta

Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta

This Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta recipe is an excuse to splurge and live a little.

Sweet and spicy bang bang sauce combined with angel hair pasta and shrimp is a must try!

Rarely do I make pasta dishes, so you know if I do they are extra yummy and unique.

What is bang bang sauce?

My bang bang sauce is made with light mayo.

Hey, I had to cut a few calories if I’m splurging with pasta.

My motto is everything in moderation 😉

Combine light mayo, sweet Thai chili sauce, and Sriracha.

Go heavy or light on the Sriracha based on your spice preference of course.

Using a whisk makes this a whole heck of a lot easier to mix.

It does take a minute before it comes together.

Next step is boiling a pound of angel hair pasta, or pasta of your choice, according to the package directions.

Once the pasta is drained, set the same pot over medium heat on the stove for the shrimp.

I mean, sure, you could use another pot, but this makes for one less dish to wash.

Add some olive oil, shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, kosher salt, pepper, lemon juice, and garlic and let this cook for about 2 minutes.

Shrimp don’t take very long to cook, and if you cook them too long they get rubbery.

Then add the cooked pasta and most of the bang bang sauce to the pot with the shrimp.

Toss until evenly mixed together.

I usually have the best luck with a pair of kitchen tongs for the mixing.

Taste for seasoning and add more Old Bay, kosher salt, or pepper if needed.

Also, if you feel it needs more sweet Thai chili sauce or Sriracha go ahead and add some.

Everyone has different preferences, so make this dish you own 🙂

Drizzle a bit more of the sauce over top and some chives for a pop of color and fresh flavor.

I also squeezed some extra lemon over top of my Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta to give it a nice fresh tang.
