Steak with Herb Cream Sauce

Steak with Herb Cream Sauce

Sometimes ya need to splurge and live a little 😉 In these cases you may want to indulge in this Steak with Herb Cream Sauce recipe!

This decadent sauce has both butter AND cream and is served over gorgeous thick cut New York Strips.

Really you could any steak, but that was my splurging steak of choice.

The sauce, in addition to being amazing on the steak, was also super good on mashed potatoes.

We even smothered our green beans in it…heck I would even swim in it 😉

It was a perfect low carb and keto friendly meal!

How to Make Steak with Herb Cream Sauce

Everything for the sauce you see below.

The herbs I am using are chives, thyme, and rosemary from my garden.

You could really use any fresh herbs you like.

ingredients for sauce

Set a skillet over high heat while you chop the herbs.

And once it’s hot, start by adding the butter, 1/2 cup beef broth, 1 1/2 cups cream…

And the herbs, garlic, dijon mustard, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.

Bring this to a boil, watching careful so it doesn’t bubble over.

Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 14 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the cream sauce is simmering, coat 4 steaks of choice with olive and sprinkle both sides with kosher salt and pepper.

For steaks I love setting my pepper grinder to largest grind setting.

You could even preheat your grill during the last minute of the cream sauce cooking.

Remove the cream sauce from the heat while grilling the steaks.

It thickens up a bit more as it sits.

Grill the steaks over medium high heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side.

The cook time will largely depend on the thickness of your steaks and how you prefer them cooked.
