Pepperoni Pasta Sauce
My kids are BIG fans of spaghetti night at home, so I decided to mix things up a bit with an easy recipe for Pepperoni Pasta Sauce.
They raved about this sauce so much, and even claimed it to be their new favorite!
Like, what kid wouldn’t love a fun mash up dinner between pasta and pizza, right?!
How to make Pepperoni Pasta Sauce
First set a large pot over medium heat.
Add some olive oil, a diced onion, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
If your family is not a fan of spice, just leave out the pepper flakes.
Cook this for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring a few times.
Next add a bag of mini pepperoni slices and fresh minced garlic.
Let this cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring a few times.
Then pour a 24 ounce jar of pasta sauce into the pot, I used Prego.
Season with Italian seasoning and let this simmer on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
While the sauce was simmering away I boiled my pasta according to the package directions.
We went with angel hair pasta because it’s our favorite, about 3/4 of the pound was perfect for this amount of sauce.
When just about ready to serve, stir in some grated parmesan cheese.
Ahhhh, I probably shouldn’t get THIS excited for something as simple as pasta sauce but it truly was amazing!
Pepperoni Pasta Sauce was SO easy, yet sparked lots of excitement at dinner 🙂
We just served the sauce over the pasta with garlic bread and a side salad for a complete, simple meal.
