Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken
This recipe for Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken was on the menu the other night and it was even more amazing than it sounds!
My grill has been getting quite the workout this summer.
I asked my husband if he was bored of grilled dinners and he said he would never get tired of any meal that he didn’t have to cook himself đŸ˜‰
Good answer, babe!
The marinade and sauce for this dish has only 5 ingredients.
Start by whisking together honey, wasabi sauce, soy sauce, ginger paste and garlic paste.
Let me point out here that this is wasabi SAUCE, and not wasabi PASTE. The two are much different.
The paste is way stronger in horseradish flavor. For sure use the sauce here.
Put three pounds of boneless, skinless thighs into a gallon size plastic bag along with a half cup of the wasabi ginger sauce.
Massage the bag until evenly combined and marinate in the fridge a few hours or overnight.
Grilling the Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken
Once you’re ready to grill, preheat it to medium high heat and put the chicken on the grill.
Then sprinkle kosher salt and pepper over top.
They will take 5 to 6 minutes per side.
Brush them a few times throughout with more the wasabi ginger sauce.
To make this a complete meal I also grilled corn at the same time.
Just brush with olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper and turn them a few times.
Save a little of the sauce to serve with the Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken.
It has just enough wasabi flavor without being overwhelming.

Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken
Wasabi Ginger Grilled Chicken is a delicious and healthy grilled chicken recipe with a flavorful wasabi ginger marinade and glaze!
Ingredients
- 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
- 1/2 cup wasabi sauce (not wasabi paste)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 Tbsps ginger paste or minced ginger
- 1 Tbsp garlic paste or minced garlic
- kosher salt, pepper
Instructions

Trim extra fat from the chicken thighs if needed and put them in a gallon size plastic bag.

Add the wasabi sauce, soy sauce, honey, ginger, and garlic to a bowl and whisk until evenly mixed.

Add 1/2 cup of the wasabi ginger sauce to the bag with the chicken and massage the bag until evenly mixed. Marinate in the fridge several hours or overnight.

Set the grill to medium high. Put the chicken on the grill, sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper, and cook 5 to 6 minutes per side, brush with the sauce a few times throughout.

Serve the chicken with the remaining wasabi ginger sauce.
