Prosciutto and Asparagus Alfredo
Prosciutto and Asparagus Alfredo is an easy to make, yummy dinner recipe sure to put a smile on your face.
A warm bowl of pasta swimming in a creamy cheesy sauce is pure comfort food to me.
I did use fresh pasta from a specialty store (Jungle Jim’s for any local friends) and their homemade alfredo sauce.
But any pasta, and any store-bought alfredo sauce works just fine… or make your own homemade sauce to amp up the flavor even more.

How to make Prosciutto and Asparagus Alfredo
I started my pot of boiling, salted water for the pasta while I started to crisp the prosciutto.
Cut the prosciutto with kitchen scissors because sometimes even a sharp knife can make this job tricky.
Just about 3 minutes in a skillet over medium heat and the prosciutto will become crisp, then remove and set aside.

And boil the pasta according to the package directions.
Since mine was fresh it only took 4 minutes, boxed pasta will take a little longer.
Be sure to save 1/2 cup of the pasta water right before draining.

Add some olive oil to the same skillet as the prosciutto, still over medium heat.
Then in goes a pound of asparagus cut into 2-inch pieces, kosher salt, and pepper.
Cook the asparagus 4 to 5 minutes stirring it a few times.
These were super thin, so I went more on the 4 minute side.

Finally add the drained pasta, 1/2 cup pasta water, and 16 ounces alfredo sauce.
See the note section of the recipe card for my super easy to make homemade alfredo sauce recipe 🙂

Toss it together using tongs and let it cook for just another minute in the skillet before topping with the crispy prosciutto.

Prosciutto and Asparagus Alfredo was our complete dinner, and everyone absolutely LOVED it 🙂

So simple, yet extra special all at the same time!

Recipe Notes
Homemade Alfredo Sauce
To a medium saucepan add 2 tablespoons butter and once melted add 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, bring to a boil and reduce the heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Watch carefully as it comes to a boil, so it does not bubble over.
Add 3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese, kosher salt, and pepper and stir until melted.
