Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce
When your kids are split between regular spaghetti and fettuccine alfredo, you combine the best of both worlds and make Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce!
Such an easy dinner recipe that everyone is sure to rave about.
Pretty much a 6 ingredient recipe if you don’t count the seasonings.
How to make Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce
First set a large pot over medium heat and add olive oil, a diced onion, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Cook this for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring a few times.
Add some minced garlic and cook another minute.
My grandson LOVES to help me cook, so he was an amazing helper adding a pint of heavy cream.
Bring the cream to a boil and reduce the heat to medium low.
Cook for about 5 minutes as it bubbles and reduces, stirring a few times.
Then stir in a cup of shredded parmesan cheese.
And a 24-ounce jar of marinara sauce.
And a tablespoon of Italian seasoning.
Stir until combined, raise the heat until it bubbles, and then back to medium low for another 5 minutes.
Taste for seasoning and add in kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes as needed.
Boil a pound of pasta according to package directions, we went with angel hair.
Save 1/4 cup of the pasta water, drain the pasta, and add it to the sauce along with the pasta water.
Use tongs to combine.
Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce will have you feeling like you are dining in a fancy Italian restaurant 🙂
My good friend even made us a loaf of homemade bread and it was absolute perfection with the pasta.
Quotes from my kids… “Mom you need to make this once a week!!” and “This is my new favorite pasta sauce!!”.
I think it’s safe to say this was highly approved 😉
