Air Fryer Crispy Fish Sandwiches
Air Fryer Crispy Fish Sandwiches are definitely a restaurant quality recipe made at home!
And SOOO much healthier than ordering out because the fish is air fried with very little oil compared to deep fried.
The air fryer is definitely my best good friend when I am trying to create the illusion that something has been deep fried.
You can make these sandwiches your own by adding any toppings of choice.
And this dinner was something a little out of the ordinary compared to what I usually make for dinner.
How to make air fryer crispy fish sandwiches
First set out four cod fillets, or any fish that you prefer.
Pat the fish dry very well with paper towels and lightly season both sides with Old Bay.
Then set up your breading station with a cracked egg in one bowl and some panko bread crumbs mixed with more old bay in another bowl.
Dip each piece of fish into the egg first and then into the seasoned bread crumbs.
Press the breading into the fish so that it sticks and place the fish in the air fryer basket.
A little olive oil cooking spray over top will help it become golden brown.
Then simply set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.
You’ll know the fish is cooked when it is above 145 degrees.
And when the breading is crispy and golden.
To build these sandwiches set out some buns and toppings of choice.
I kept it simple with lettuce, pickle, and this remoulade sauce.
You could also use tartar sauce of course.
Air Fryer crispy fish sandwiches are already being requested again very soon!

Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (or fish fillets of choice)
- Old Bay seasoning
- 1 egg
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- olive oil cooking spray (I used Pam)
- 4 buns
- Toppings of choice: lettuce, pickle, remoulade sauce or tartar sauce
Instructions
-
Pat the cod fillets dry on both sides and season both sides with old Bay.
-
Crack the egg in one bowl and beat with a fork. Put the panko bread crumbs and a little more old Bay in a separate bowl and mix until combined.
-
Dip each cod fillet into the egg and then into the panko mixture pressing the bread crumbs into the fish. Place them in the air fryer basket and spray some olive oil cooking spray over top.
-
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes until the fish has an internal temperature of 145 degrees and the panko is golden brown to your liking.
Note: If the fish sticks to the air fryer, gently wiggle them back and forth and lightly shake the air fryer basket until the fish releases.
-
Serve the crispy fish on buns and add toppings of choice such as lettuce, pickles, remoulade sauce or tartar sauce.
