Air Fryer BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Air Fryer BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Air fryer BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp is a great appetizer recipe or game day snack!

I have a few tricks for making the bacon crispy without overcooking the shrimp.

And it’s pretty simple because you don’t have to wait for the oven to preheat.

Thanks to the magic of the air fryer it comes out perfect every time!

How to make air fryer BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp

The first trick is cooking the bacon slightly first before wrapping the shrimp.

Slice some regular cut bacon in half and place in the air fryer for about 4 to 5 minutes.

The bacon will not be cooked all the way and that is perfectly fine.

While the bacon is cooking in the air fryer peel and devein a pound of jumbo shrimp.

Place the shrimp in a bowl and sprinkle your favorite barbecue seasoning on the shrimp and toss until evenly coated.

Let the partially cooked bacon cool slightly and then wrap each one around a piece of shrimp.

Secure with a toothpick and place in the air fryer basket.

Then repeat with the remaining bacon and shrimp.

No worries if a slice or two of bacon does not wrap completely around the shrimp.

I had a few like that and I just positioned them in the air fryer basket with the bacon seam side down.

A little more barbecue seasoning gets sprinkled over top.

And then set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes.

As the shrimp are doing their thing in the air fryer, set out some of your favorite barbecue sauce.

And brush some of the sauce over the shrimp during the last minute or two.

Serve Air Fryer BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with even more barbecue sauce for dipping!

I do recommend letting these cool slightly before serving.

That way the bacon comes to room temperature, making it slightly more crisp.

And fair warning, if these are as popular as they were in our house, they will not last long!
