Air Fryer Twisted Candied Bacon would be an incredible part of breakfast or brunch, but here we enjoyed it as a “just because” snack.
I jumped on the TikTok bandwagon coming up with various versions of the four fold wrap in the air fryer.
So why not give the TikTok twisted bacon a try, right?!
Putting my own spin on it, of course, by making it in the air fryer and brushed with a sweet and spicy glaze.
How to Make Air Fryer Twisted Candied Bacon
The ingredients are simple enough… bacon, maple syrup, and brown sugar.
I added hot sauce to mine, but you could easily leave that out if you’re not a spice freak like me 😉
Bacon thickness is key here, friends.
Thick cut bacon won’t twist as well, and the cook time would be different.
This bacon was on the thinner side making it perfect for twisting.
Just twist each slice several times and place in the air fryer basket.
Then set the air fryer to 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Check it after a few minutes to see if they moved.
Mine did move and I used a fork to put them back in place.
While the bacon cooks by itself for the first 10 minutes, make the glaze.
Put 2 tablespoons maple syrup, a tablespoon brown sugar, and a few dashed of hot sauce if using.
And mix it all together.
Brush the bacon with the sweet mixture and put back into the 350 degrees air fryer for another 5 to 7 minutes.
Cook time will depend on how you like your bacon cooked.
Just keep peeking a few times.
Let Air Fryer Twisted Candied Bacon cool for awhile before serving.
And don’t make the mistake like I did by putting them on paper towels… they stuck!
Either cool on a plate or just in the air fryer basket.
