Crispy Baked Old Bay Wings
Crispy Baked Old Bay Wings were a quick and easy dinner recipe.
And sometimes you just need these simple quick dinners in your life, right?!
This was a last minute dish that I threw together in a just a few minutes.
As I opened my spice cabinet I went straight for the Old Bay.
I almost put it back to try and mix things up a bit because I use this spice blend A TON.
But then I remembered why I use it so often… it’s flipping amazing and you don’t need to add anything to it.
Perfection on it’s own each and every time.
Good thing I got the BIG bottle of this stuff 🙂

How to Make Crispy Baked Old Bay Wings
I have four pounds of the whole wings that have not been split.
And for the “crispy” part of this chicken is thanks to baking powder.
The baking powder does not add flavor, but it does help to dry the chicken skin to create a pretty crisp wing without frying.

Pat the wings dry really well with paper towels, then into a big bowl.
Add 2 1/2 tablespoon of the Old Bay seasoning.
And 1 1/2 tablespoons of the baking powder.
Toss them together with your hands in the bowl.

Then place the chicken on a wire baking rack over a lined baking sheet.
Some of the Old Bay and baking powder mix may be left in the bowl.
If so, sprinkle it over the chicken.
The baking rack helps add to the crispiness by allowing air to circulate, but if you don’t have one, no problem.
Just put the chicken right on a baking sheet.

Bake the chicken in a 450 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Just make sure it’s above 165 degrees with an instant read thermometer.
Serve Crispy Baked Old Bay Wings with any wing sauces of choice!

Honestly I set out some different sauces, but they were truly fantastic just by themselves.

YUM!
