Air fryer harissa salmon has a slightly smoky and slightly spicy marinade that is quite unique.
That’s all thanks to the key ingredient of harissa Moroccan chili spread.
You can try the ethnic food section of your grocery store or click below to buy from Amazon!
You’ll want to try and get this spread instead of the harissa paste, if you do get the paste just use slightly less as the flavor is stronger.
How to make air fryer harissa salmon
Just a few simple ingredients are involved in the sauce/ marinade.
In a bowl combine a tablespoon and a half each of the harissa spread and soy sauce or coconut aminos.
Then add a tablespoon of honey along with some garlic powder, cumin, and ground cinnamon.
Mix together and combine a few spoonfuls with 1/3 of a cup of Mayo.
Set that aside for the dipping sauce.
Then place two salmon fillets in the air fryer basket and brush the remaining harissa mixture over the salmon.
Season the salmon with kosher salt and pepper and then set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Even though these are only two salmon fillets, they were rather large at about 6 oz each.
So mine took more to the 10 minute point since they were so large.
That gorgeous red color from the harissa spread is insane!
So yummy and full of extra special flavors.
Drizzle the sauce over air fryer harissa salmon and enjoy!
One of the nice things about cooking salmon in the air fryer is when you cook the fillets skin side down the salmon easily releases from the skin.
We also served extra of the harissa sauce on the side along with some asparagus and sweet potatoes for a complete meal.
