Korean BBQ Pizza
It’s pizza night! On the menu this week was this unique (but easy) recipe for Korean BBQ Pizza!
It sounds complicated, but this dish is super quick and simple to make.
The sauce is just 3/4 cup BBQ sauce mixed with gochujang chili paste.
It’s a Korean chili paste that has a slight heat and slightly sweet.
Here’s how to make Korean BBQ Pizza
I took a shortcut with mixing two premade sauces together….why not take a shortcut for the dough too, right?!
They sell premade pizza dough in the grocery store.
But in this case I went to our favorite pizza place and asked for a large dough.
Roll it out to about 12 to 14 inches and place on a baking sheet with some cornmeal.
The cornmeal prevents sticking and gives the crust a nice texture.
Then top with a pound of cooked, shredded chicken or pork and 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese.
We used some leftover Smoked Pulled Pork that I made a few weeks ago and froze the leftovers.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on how thick your crust is.
Just keep checking it during the last few minutes and you’ll be just fine.
The ooey gooey cheese melted into the gorgeous sauce is my favorite part 🙂
I mean who doesn’t love ooey gooey cheese, am I right?!
We topped our Korean BBQ Pizza with fresh cilantro and Sweet Pickled Red Onions.
The pickled onions gave a nice zing to this dish.
I make these often and always keep them in the fridge to use on pizzas, tacos, and nachos!
