Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza Dip
Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza Dip is what I picked to make first for one of my sweet second grade students.
Teaching second grade in the month of December can be somewhat…ummm…Eventful?
Perhaps “Crazy” is the real word I’m looking for here 😉
Despite all of that, it’s a pretty magical time of year.
Seeing how excited the kids are to give me their gifts during the holidays is especially awesome.
One of my sweet little girls picked out an absolutely GORGEOUS casserole dish for me.
Since she is extra special to me, I knew I had to make something extra special in it.
How to make Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza Dip
This dip has only a few simple ingredients.
Everything you see pictured below along with pizza sauce (of course) and some garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Crushed red pepper flakes would be a great addition to add some spice.
I was bringing this to a holiday party, so I didn’t want to add spice for the kids.
It starts by cooking ground Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat.
Break it apart as it cooks with a wooden spatula.
Then drain the excess grease and set aside.
In the bottom of the casserole dish I spread a block of cream cheese.
Then added about a third of the cooked sausage, mini pepperoni, and a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Then half of a jar of pizza sauce gets spooned over top.
A bit of garlic powder and Italian seasoning as well.
Repeat with another layer just like the first and then top with more cheese and the remaining sausage and pepperoni.
Another sprinkle of garlic powder and Italian seasoning and it’s ready for the oven.
Bake this Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza Dip in a 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Serve right away with Fritos Scoops and enjoy!
It was a huge hit at my family party, and the beautiful casserole dish that my adorable student picked out for me got quite a few compliments as well 🙂
