Air Fryer Chorizo Hash
Share Post
Air Fryer Chorizo Hash was on the menu for dinner last night, and lucky for me there were leftovers!
That meant I got to enjoy this fabulous recipe TWICE 🙂
All morning at school I was eying the clock and counting down the minutes until lunch.
Oh my yumminess, it was almost better today!
Here’s how to make Air Fryer Chorizo Has
This one is simple enough to prepare as well.
It starts by cooking a pound of ground chorizo sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spatula as it cooks.
I absolutely LOVE chorizo!
It has the perfect amount of spice and no additional seasoning is needed because it’s so flavorful.
The hash browns I used were frozen diced Southern style.
No shame in taking a little help from the store, right?!
I decided to make the hash browns in the air fryer because I wanted them to be crispy.
So just about four cups of the frozen hash browns fit perfectly in my air fryer basket.
You could follow the directions on the package to make them in a skillet if you don’t have an air fryer though.
Then a light sprinkling of Lawry’s season salt, because these were unseasoned hash browns.
These will take 20 to 25 minutes in the air fryer set to 390 degrees.
The time really depends on how crispy you prefer your hash browns.
Also shake the basket a few times as they cook so they cook evenly.
So we saved the calories of no cooking oil by air frying the hash browns.
Therefore we won’t feel AS bad about piling on some sausage and cheese 😉
After you add the cooked chorizo sausage and cheese, shake the basket a few times until it’s evenly mixed.
Just another minute or two in the air fryer until the cheese is melted.
As the cheese was melting away in the air fryer, I made some fried eggs to go over top.
Air Fryer Chorizo Hash is not only delicious…it’s pretty darn gorgeous too 🙂
Add a little fresh cilantro over top and dinner is ready!
.
The egg served over top made this extra yummy.
The yolk when we cut the egg made it creamy and decadent.
But, if you prefer yours with no egg you could top it with some sour cream.

Air Fryer Chorizo Hash
Air Fryer Chorizo Hash has only a few ingredients, and the frozen hash browns are cooked to crispy perfection in the air fryer!
Ingredients
- 1 pound chorizo sausage
- 4 cups frozen diced hash browns (Southern style)
- Lawry's season salt
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- Optional: fried eggs to serve over top, sour cream, cilantro for garnish
Instructions
-
Cook the chorizo sausage in a skillet over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
-
Place the diced frozen hash browns in the air fryer basket and season with Lawry's season salt (the hash browns I got were not seasoned, skip this part if your hash browns are pre-seasoned). Set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, depending on how crispy you want them to be. Shake the basket a few times throughout cooking.
-
Add the cooked chorizo sausage and cheese to the air fryer and shake the basket to mix evenly. Set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 1 to 2 more minutes until the cheese is melted.
-
Top with a fried egg or sour cream if desired and garnish with cilantro.
Note: If you don't have an air fryer, follow to directions on the hash brown package to cook in a skillet. Then toss in the chorizo and cheese before serving.
