You could even thin it out a bit and use as a healthy taco salad dressing.

Thanks to the cottage cheese, it’s packed with 6 grams of protein per serving and lower in calories than most creamy sauces.

How to make High Protein Creamy Taco Sauce

Simply add a cup of cilantro, 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese, taco seasoning, lime juice, hot sauce, and juuuuust a drizzle of honey to a blender or food processor.

Then blend until smooth.

Taste for seasoning and add more taco seasoning, lime juice, hot sauce… whatever you think it needs.

High Protein Creamy Taco Sauce is a healthy taco sauce or salad dressing made with cottage cheese, part of my Blackstone taco meal prep series

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons taco seasoning blend of choice
  • hot sauce of choice
  • drizzle of honey

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth, about 1 minute. Taste for seasoning and add more taco seasoning, lime juice, hot sauce, etc. as needed. Add more milk for a thinner consistency if using as a salad dressing.

  2. Store in a covered container in the fridge for up to 4 days and use as a chip dip, on tacos or wraps, rice bowls, or as a salad dressing.
