Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Share Post
It doesn’t get much more comforting than a big bowl of Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings on a cold, rainy day.
Kind of like a warm hug that just makes everything a little better.
Everyone in my family, plus my son’s friend and daughter’s boyfriend were well fed and extra happy with this meal 🙂
How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
When you start this meal in the morning, it’s ready to go for dinner.
Dice an onion, two carrots, and three stalks of celery.
Then put two pounds chicken breasts and these diced veggies into your slow cooker.

Next up add Old Bay seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper.

Plus some fresh thyme leaves.

Finally add two cans chicken broth and two cans cream of chicken soup.
Give it a stir and turn the slow cooker on low for 6 hours.

After 6 hours, use two forks to shred the chicken in the slow cooker.
Then add a cup of frozen peas.

Use a rolling pin to roll out 5 jumbo size biscuits.
And use a pizza cutter to cut the flattened biscuits into small pieces.
I got the roll of 8 jumbo biscuits, but only used 5 of them.
The remaining 3 biscuits I cooked in my air fryer and they were devoured by my family before the meal was even ready 🙂

Turn the slow cooker to high and drop the pieces of biscuits in.
Cook for 1 more hour, stirring a few times so the biscuits don’t clump together.

Taste for seasoning and add more kosher salt, pepper, and/or Old Bay if needed.

Chicken and Dumplings is a perfect cold weather meal that warms you right up 🙂
