Slow Cooker Cheesy Cajun Pasta
This Slow Cooker Cheesy Cajun Pasta recipe came to me came to me daydreaming as I was driving to school and I’m really glad it did!
If you know me well, you know I basically dream in food.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing to have going on.
My whole family loved it!
My son and husband asked for not only seconds, but thirds. I sent some over to my brother and his three year old son.
And I will just let this adorable picture speak for itself 🙂
How to make Slow Cooker Cheesy Cajun Pasta
This starts out with two chicken breasts in the slow cooker along with a diced onion and garlic.
Add the cajun seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and pepper.
Add some sliced smoked sausage too.
Then pour chicken broth over top and give it a little stir.
Set the slow cooker to low for 6 to 8 hours and it will look like this 🙂
Then using two forks shred the chicken right in the slow cooker.
It falls apart like butter and smells absolutely amazing!
Boil the pasta according to the package directions in some salted water about a half hour before serving.
And after draining it very well add the pasta to the slow cooker.
Now for LOTS of cheesy goodness!
A jar of alfredo sauce, two cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, and some grated parmesan goes into this party. Stir it all up and taste for seasoning.
Add some extra seasoning if needed and serve Slow Cooker Cheesy Cajun Pasta with fresh parsley sprinkled over top.
