Hibachi Steak and Fried Rice
This Hibachi Steak and Fried Rice recipe was incredible!
Hi, I’m Cheri and I’m slightly (ok fully) addicted to my Blackstone griddle, and also steak.
So why not combine these two obsessions into one amazing dish of
Right?!
I’ve made fried rice several times on the griddle and it’s so easy, SO much better than even at the Japanese steakhouse, and kind of a fun experience.
Especially with the hibachi tools my husband got for me.
I have yet to learn any cool tricks like the onion volcano or the “egg” roll…but stay tuned 😉

How to Make Hibachi Steak and Fried Rice
The first step is making jasmine rice, six cups total cooked, and then let it cool in the fridge for a few hours.
The cooled rice creates a nice crisp on the griddle.
Then cut 1 1/2 pounds of steak into bite size pieces.
You could use most cuts of steak, I am using New York strip steak here.
Toss the steak with some soy sauce, garlic, and ginger and let the steak marinate for about an hour.
The key to a successful hibachi cook is having all of your ingredients prepped and ready to go.
I like to put everything on a tray so it’s right there when I need it.
Preheat the griddle to medium high heat for a few minutes.
Then add the sesame oil (or any neutral oil would work too) and the rice, a diced onion, and three eggs.
Toss this around and flip with the hibachi spatulas for a few minutes.
Then add a bag of frozen peas and carrots.
I did let mine thaw first but it’s not absolutely needed.
After you toss the peas and carrots with the rice, add soy sauce, butter, garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds.
Toss this around on the griddle a few times for about 7 to 8 minutes total.
I even press the rice flat on the griddle to get that rice super crispy.
During the last 3 or 4 minutes add a little more oil to the griddle and the steak.
Toss the steak a few times as well.
At this point you might be drooling a bit, and that’s perfectly normal 😉
Put the steak and rice on a tray or platter and get those plates ready for dinner!
Serve Hibachi Steak and Fried Rice with Yum Yum sauce on the side!
I wrote in the recipe card that yum yum sauce was optional…HA, let’s just be honest…it’s not optional 😉
It’s very much part of the whole hibachi experience.
And my steak and rice are usually drowning in this addicting sauce.
I used store bought sauce this time around, but you can find my homemade recipe HERE.
