Smoked Feta with Spicy Honey
Smoked Feta with Spicy Honey is such a unique appetizer recipe to serve.
And very few ingredients are involved (always a plus).
This one is best served warm because the ooey gooey feta cheese is perfection served with crostini or pita chips.
It’s great to make at the same time as another dish since it takes up very little room in the smoker.
I made it along with Smoked Caribbean Jerk Shrimp (also served with crostini) for the ultimate snacky snack meal!
How to Make Smoked Feta with Spicy Honey
So you’ll need some sort of ramekin or bowl that will fit an 8 ounce block of feta cheese.
Olive oil, feta, fresh thyme, honey, and hot sauce is all it takes to make this fabulous appetizer.
A little drizzle of olive oil to prevent sticking goes in the bottom of the dish.
Then the block of feta and fresh thyme sprigs to surround the cheese.
Mix together the honey and hot sauce according to your spice preference.
I started with a half cup of honey and added a few dashes of hot sauce until it was perfectly perfect for me.
Tabasco is what I used, but any hot sauce will work.
The honey came about halfway up the block of feta.
A little fresh thyme leaves over top and we are ready to smoke some cheese 🙂
Simply place the ramekin into a smoker set to 250 degrees for an hour.
Yum Yum!
The spicy honey is nice and bubbly and the feta is soft and spreadable. Plus the extra wood fired flavor is amazing!
Get some crostini or pita chips to dig into this Smoked Feta with Spicy Honey!
If it ends up not getting devoured right away, simply warm it back up in either the microwave or oven.
