Pomegranate Molasses BBQ Ribs

Pomegranate Molasses BBQ Ribs

Pomegranate Molasses BBQ Ribs are smoked using the 3-2-1 recipe method and the unique sauce perfectly highlights these delicious ribs.

So basically we will season these ribs and smoke for 6 hours total… 3 hours just seasoned, wrapped in foil for another 2 hours, then finished off with the sauce for 1 more hour.

Hence the name 3-2-1 method 🙂

And, might I recommend smoking something else at the same time if you have a large enough smoker.

Also, be sure to check out the method used for Smoked Beef Short Ribs from OrWhateverYouDo.com, they are seriously amazing!

How to Make Pomegranate Molasses BBQ Ribs

Start by patting dry a full rack of pork ribs.

Then rub about 4 Tablespoons of your favorite BBQ seasoning or dry rub on both sides.

And into the smoker set to 225 degrees for 3 hours.

This is what will await you after those first 3 hours.

Carefully transfer the ribs onto foil.

I double lined my foil just in case.

Pour a few Tablespoons of water or beer in the foil and wrap it up tight and place it back onto the smoker.

The liquid in the foil packet will create steam and make these ribs super tender!

While the ribs are doing their thing in the smoker, you can make the BBQ sauce.

The star of the sauce is this Pomegranate Molasses from Savory Spice!

Savory Spice has a wide selection of quality spices, sauces, and TONS of gift options.

There’s just a small amount, but it gives it such a unique flavor.

It stays good in the fridge forever, so you could even make this same sauce on grilled chicken or salmon.

All there’s to do is put ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, ground red pepper, and a small amount of this Pomegranate Molasses in a saucepan.

Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to simmer for a few minutes.

During the last hour is the most rewarding part of cooking these ribs.

Carefully remove the ribs from the foil, and just look at that steam!

That steam is what makes them fall off the bone.

During the last hour, brush the ribs with the homemade sauce a few times.

Serve Pomegranate Molasses BBQ Ribs with the extra sauce on the side.

My husband had some friends over working in the garage so they all got a sample of both the ribs and chicken that I made at the same time.

I got the thumbs up from both meats (and probably they will be hanging around more often 😉 ).
