Smoked Blue Cheese Bacon Jalapenos
What do you do when your garden has an abundance of jalapenos? Make this recipe for Smoked Blue Cheese Bacon Jalapenos of course 🙂
For as amazing as these are, they are fairly simple to put together.
All you need are jalapenos, blue cheese, cream cheese, bacon, and cajun seasoning.
How to Make Smoked Blue Cheese Bacon Jalapenos
First, slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise. And use a spoon to scrape the seeds and white ribs off.
I recommend wearing gloves if you have sensitive skin.
Then put a few blue cheese crumbles in each jalapeno half.
If you like more blue cheese flavor feel free to add more, I used about 2 ounces.
Next cut half a block of cream cheese into slices similar in size as the jalapenos.
That way you just lay the slices in the jalapenos and press slightly.
Next wrap a slice of bacon around each jalapeno.
The bacon will overlap slightly.
Place them on a tray and sprinkle with cajun seasoning.
Then head out to the smoker!
Put the jalapenos in the smoker set to 250 degrees for 2 hours.
If you want a crispier bacon crank the heat to 325 for the last 20 minutes.
This was a thicker bacon than I normally use so I did turn the heat up and the bacon was perfectly crisp. With thinner bacon it may not be needed.
.
Let them cool a bit before digging in, which may have been the most difficult part of making these 😉
Smoked Blue Cheese Bacon Jalapenos were amazing!
