My parents come over every Friday to be my recipe taste testers, and one dish they highly approved of were these Air Fryer Crispy Tortellini Bites.
It’s a rough job they have 😉 but they willingly come over to try lots of new food and give me their feedback.
The inspiration for these crispy bites was actually my mom and dad’s love of the fried ravioli at Olive Garden years ago.
I remembered how much they loved them, but I put my own twist using tortellini and my good friend, the air fryer.
How to Make Air Fryer Crispy Ravioli Bites
You’ll need a 12 ounce bag of frozen tortellini.
No need to thaw, the tortellini still frozen are just fine.
To make the breading, combine 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Crack two eggs in a bowl and beat with a fork.
And place the bowl of eggs and the panko breading next to the air fryer for a little tortellini breading station.
Dip each frozen tortellini into the egg and then coat with the panko breading.
And place right into the air fryer basket.
Spray non stick cooking spray over top and set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 8 to 11 minutes.
Check on them during the last few minutes and remove once they are crisped and golden brown to your liking.
Serve Air Fryer Crispy Tortellini Bites with pizza sauce and parsley if desired 🙂
They were super crisp on the outside, but still cheesy and soft on the inside.
SOOO good with the pizza sauce, but my daughter is allergic to tomatoes and had hers with sriracha and honey.
Strange combo but we all tried it and agreed it was pretty amazing!
