BBQ Pork and Waffles with Bourbon Syrup
BBQ Pork and Waffles with Bourbon Syrup was our fun play on my chicken and waffles recipe, and the perfect way to use leftover pulled pork.
We make Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork quite often and one of the delicious reasons is because the leftovers are incredible.
You can easily find pulled pork at the grocery store if you don’t have leftovers of course.
My parents were the lucky dinner guests that got to enjoy this dish, and they highly approved as well 🙂
How to Make BBQ Pork and Waffles with Bourbon Syrup
The syrup gets a boost of flavor by adding bourbon and sriracha.
Be sure to use 100% pure maple syrup for maximum yumminess!
I made the syrup right in the measuring cup by adding a half cup of syrup, 2 Tbsps bourbon, and 2 Tbsps sriracha.
Just whisk it for a few seconds and it’s ready to go.
You can find frozen belgian waffles to toast up or make your own waffles.
This time I used a waffle mix from the store and my waffle maker.
Toss the leftover pulled pork with your favorite BBQ sauce and warm it up if needed.
If you are using pulled pork from the store it may already have BBQ sauce included.
Pile the BBQ pulled pork over the waffles and garnish with chives if desired.
Serve with the spicy syrup and enjoy!
