The Crispiest Baked Chicken Wings
This time around I used some special tricks to create the BEST recipe for The Crispiest Baked Chicken Wings.
I sure am a sucker for crispy chicken wings!
Usually I air fry them but with making four pounds for our game day snack I would have had to do several batches.
I have used this trick with chicken thighs, so why not try it on wings, right?!
SO glad I did because everyone was raving about these.
How to make The Crispiest Baked Chicken Wings
First pat four pounds of jumbo split chicken wings dry with paper towels.
These can be either fresh wings or frozen wings that have been thawed.
Now the next trick….drum roll please…..BAKING POWDER!
Mix baking powder with whatever seasoning you like.
I have made these using Old Bay seasoning and cajun seasoning.
You could also use taco seasoning, BBQ, or Caribbean Jerk would be great too.
So 1 Tbsp baking powder and 2 Tbsps of your seasoning of choice get mixed together.
Then rub them on all sides of the dried chicken wings.
First trick is drying the wings, second trick is the baking powder…but wait, there’s more!
Yep I sound like that cleaning guy on TV- haha!
My next trick is using a wire baking rack over a lined baking sheet.
It allows the air to circulate on all sides of the chicken wings.
Baking The Crispiest Baked Chicken Wings
These will bake in a 475 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes, and flip them halfway through cooking to make sure all sides get crispy.
The Crispiest Baked Chicken Wings can be served just like this or tossed in your favorite wing sauce.
