I started this in the morning before heading to school and it literally took just a few minutes to throw together.
How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken Pesto Pasta
Into the slow cooker goes 2 pounds of chicken breasts, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Then spoon a container of pesto over top.
Or you could make Homemade Basil Pesto and freeze it.
Next add a diced onion and minced garlic.
And a jar of alfredo sauce as well covers everything.
Turn the slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours.
And this is the yumminess that you will come home to đŸ™‚
Shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll sample some of the chicken during the shredding process.
You know, for quality control purposes of course đŸ˜‰
Boil a pound of penne pasta according to the package directions, drain it really well, and add the cooked pasta to the slow cooker.
Then goes in LOTS of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Stir it all together and you have yourself one heck of a comfort food meal!
Slow Cooker Chicken Pesto Pasta is sure to be a new family favorite!
