Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad
Healthy eating doesn’t necessarily mean boring, and this recipe for Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad is proof!
Just a few simple ingredients and you have yourself a healthy dinner in no time.
You could step up the, ummm…”healthiness” by using a lighter Caesar dressing if you prefer.
I chose to take a little help from the store by using Dole Caesar Salad kits, which already come with the dressing included.
So basically all the work I had to do with this meal was make the blackened salmon.
How to Make Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad
Season all sides of the salmon fillets with your favorite cajun or blackened seasoning.
Then heat a skillet over medium heat until it’s pretty hot and add some olive oil.
Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned salmon fillets skin side up.
Let this cook for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon.
These were fairly thick so I went the full five minutes.
Flip and cook 3 to 5 more minutes.
As you can see it gets a little smoky, so make sure you turn on the vent fan as it cooks.
Remove the salmon and let them come to room temperature before topping the salad.
That would surely wilt the lettuce.
The skin will easily peel away from the salmon, so remove the skin at this point if you prefer.
As the salmon was cooling, I prepared the salad kits according to the package directions.
Divide the salad between four plates or bowls and top each with the gorgeous blackened salmon.
And if you are meal prepping these salads, simply put the salad and salmon in a container and put the dressing on the side 🙂
Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad is always a hit with my family, and I hope you enjoy it as well.
