Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad

Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad

Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad is an extra yummy and delicious recipe 🙂

Caesar salad for me is a comfort food, only because it reminds me of my grandma.

She was super into Caesar salads in like the late 80’s/ early 90’s when I was a teenager.

We would go to her house and have a spread of appetizers and always, always, always a Caesar salad.

This is my grandma today 🙂

Now I get to cook for her.

How to make Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad

I really wanted to grill the blackened shrimp.

And the only sane way to grill shrimp is on kabob skewers.

Why? Because if you don’t you may lose some shrimp and lose heat from the grill when turning them individually.

These shrimp were tossed in olive oil, garlic paste, lemon juice, and some blackening seasoning.

Why Garlic Paste?

Let’s just talk about garlic paste for a second.

Garlic Paste

It’s amazing!

No chopping and all the flavor in my humble opinion.

But the BEST part…it evenly coats your food so there’s even garlic flavor and not just a bit here and there.

I find it right by the refrigerated herbs in the produce section of the store.

Ok sorry, I’m back 😉

Put the shrimp onto wooden skewers that have soaked in water for a few hours.

Then sprinkle with more blackening seasoning.

Shrimp take very little time to cook.

Just about 2-3 minutes per side on a medium high grill is all they took.

Can you almost smell the garlic and lemon?!

Ah, sooooo good!

Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad

Now I am not one of those cooks who does everything from scratch.

I’m all about taking help from the store to make my life a little easier.

They have salad kits in the store, people!

Literally everything you need for a salad is right there!

Two Caesar salad kits (dressing, cheese, croutons included) go into a bowl and mix it all together… then it’s done 🙂

Finally, top each Blackened Shrimp Caesar Salad with the shrimp skewers and enjoy 🙂

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel and place them in a bowl.

  2. Add the olive oil, garlic paste, lemon juice, and 1 Tbsp of the blackening seasoning. Toss until evenly coated.

  3. Put the shrimp on the kabob skewers and sprinkle with the remaining blackening seasoning.

  4. Grill the shrimp kabobs over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. Prepare the Caesar salad kits according to the package directions, toss until the dressing is evenly coated and top each salad with the blackened shrimp.
