Coffee Rubbed Flank Steak
This time around I went with an easy recipe for Coffee Rubbed Flank Steak.
One of the best dinners in my opinion is a simple grilled steak, and my family would agree 100%.
Sometimes I opt for olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper and just let the steak speak for itself.
And yes, you read that correctly…coffee rubbed!
I promise the coffee does not overwhelm the steak, just gives it a unique flavor.
How to make Coffee Rubbed Flank Steak
The rub is a mix of ground coffee, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper.
I also add some ground red pepper for some heat.
Start by brushing a two pound flank steak with olive oil, then rub the spice mixture on both sides of the flank steak.
The next step is just grilling over medium high heat.
My family likes a medium temperature, so I timed this one four minutes per side.
Of course with grilling, the times will vary.
All grills vary in temp and the thickness of the steak also will make a difference.

Quite possibly the most difficult part of the Coffee Rubbed Flank Steak is having the willpower to let it rest before digging in!
Be patient and let it sit for about 10 minutes before slicing…repeat after me…”I can do this…I am strong!”
The trick with flank steak is slicing it against the grain.
If you slice with the grain it will be tough and chewy.
So slice against the grain and serve it up and enjoy!
