Sriracha Bourbon Chicken Wings

Sriracha Bourbon Chicken Wings

My version of Sriracha Bourbon Chicken Wings was quite a recipe hit with my husband and teens!

One of my favorite things to get at a restaurant by my house is the chicken wings that come with a similar glaze.

So of course I had to try and recreate it at home.

If you know me well, you know I do this quite often 🙂

How to Make Sriracha Bourbon Chicken Wings

Three pounds of split chicken wings go into a bowl and I tossed them with bourbon, Sriracha, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and brown sugar.

This marinates in the fridge for at least an hour.

I make wings in the smoker a lot, also in the air fryer, but today I baked them in the oven.

Onto a wire rack they go over a lined baking sheet place the wings in a single layer.

If you don’t have a wire rack it’s perfectly fine.

I do recommend lining the pan with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up.

Into a 425 degree oven for 40-45 minutes these go. I flip them halfway through also.

I love a charred, crispy skin so I turn the broiler on high for about 2 minutes at the very end 🙂

If you do not want a charred skin, just skip this step.

No biggie 🙂

Now for the yummy glaze…

While the wings were baking away in the oven I made the Sriracha Bourbon Sauce.

I whisked together some brown sugar, bourbon, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and Sriracha.

Bring this just to a boil and then reduce heat to low and simmer 10-12 minutes.

I added some kosher salt and pepper at the end as well.

Check the wings to make sure they are 170 degrees with a thermometer.

Serve the crisp baked wings with the delicious sweet and spicy Sriracha Bourbon Sauce.

You’ll have the yummiest Sriracha Bourbon Chicken Wings ever 🙂

  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha
  • 3 Tbsps brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Sriracha Bourbon Sauce

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup bourbon
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Sriracha
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • kosher salt, pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinade and Chicken Wings

  1. Place the split chicken wings into a large bowl or gallon size plastic bags. Add remaining ingredients. Toss until evenly coated. Marinate at least one hour in the fridge.

  2. Cook wings according to one of these methods:

In the oven: Place the wings on a lined baking sheet. Place in a 425 degree oven for 40-45 minutes, flip them halfway through cooking. For extra crispy wings, turn the broiler on high for the last minute or 2 of cooking. Use a thermometer to make sure they are 170 degrees.

In the Air Fryer: Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 18 minutes at 400 degrees. Flip the wings and set the air fryer for an additional 18 minutes at 400 degrees.

In the smoker: Place the wings in a smoker set to 250 degrees for 2 and a half hours, flip them halfway through cooking.

  3. Serve with the Sriracha Bourbon Sauce.
