Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites
My seven year old son and I decided to make an easy recipe for Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites.
I’m not one to jump on the bandwagon of the latest kitchen gadget.
But, after hearing SO many people rave on and on about their air fryer, I started looking into them.
So, this is my very first air fryer experience.
As luck would have it I went to my sister and brother-in-law’s house and noticed their air fryer sitting on the counter.
He said I could take it home and give it a try!
How to Make Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites
The idea for these actually came from my son!
His exact description was “frozen mac and cheese rolled in cracker crumbs and fry them”.
I wanted to use the creamiest, cheesiest mac and cheese so they weren’t dry.
Bob Evans makes a darn good mac and cheese, so we went with that.
In order to make them easier to handle we dropped spoonfuls on a lined baking sheet and froze them.
Once frozen we dropped them in egg and rolled them around in panko bread crumbs.
Then just placed in a single layer in the basket and sprayed a bit of olive oil cooking spray on top.
Now, remember I said we borrowed this…which meant we didn’t have any instructions.
Honestly it was so simple though.
I just set the timer for 15 minutes and temp to 390, pressed start and that was it!
Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites came out crispy and golden brown just as we hoped.
.
My husband, son, and I all gathered around for the taste testing and OH…MY…GOODNESS, YUM!
Well now you know I have to try out a few more recipes before I’m fully on the air fryer bandwagon.
But so far I am sold 🙂
