Pull Apart Cherry Bombs
Pull Apart Cherry Bombs were meant to be an easy dessert recipe, but they could totally be served as a sweet breakfast treat!
My good friend challenged me to create a copycat cherry thing-a-lings recipe, which is a popular pastry that a local bakery makes only once a year.
This is totally not the same, but still really delicious!
I’ll still work on that copycat recipe though 😉
How to make Pull Apart Cherry Bombs
This recipe is super easy because we are starting with biscuit dough in a tube.
First separate the biscuits, roll them slightly, and cut each in half.
Then place a frozen cherry in the center and roll into a ball.
Dip each into some melted butter and roll in plain white sugar.
Then place them all in a greased 9×13 casserole dish, leaving a little space for them to puff up as they bake.
Put this dish into a 350 degree oven for 23 to 26 minutes.
As they bake we will make the cherry sauce that will go over top.
First chop the rest of the frozen cherries.
And put them in a saucepan over high heat.
Then add two cups of powdered sugar.
Bring this to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 12 to 15 minutes.
Remove the cherry stuffed biscuits from the oven and spoon the cherry sauce over top.
It’s best to serve Pull Apart Cherry Bombs right away while still hot from the oven 🙂
Such a simple and easy dessert or breakfast!
