Keto Friendly Cranberry Sauce
Thanksgiving is not really your friend if you are doing a low carb diet, but at least you can enjoy this keto friendly cranberry sauce recipe!
Sometimes we even refer to our Thanksgiving as “Carbsgiving” 😉
But if you’re on the keto diet we can make a few minor adjustments such as this cranberry sauce.
How to make keto friendly cranberry sauce
Cranberries themselves are low in carbs.
So all you need to make this delicious cranberry sauce low carb is shown below.
The only real work here is zesting an orange with a microplane grater.
Almost all of the zest goes into the saucepan but I did save a little to put over top as a garnish.
Set a saucepan over high heat and start by adding one cup of diet or zero sugar Sprite.
Then add a bag of fresh cranberries, the zest of the orange, a packet or two of stevia or sugar free sweetener, and a pinch of salt.
I only used one packet of this stevia, if you like a sweeter cranberry sauce feel free to add the second packet.
Bring this to a boil and once it’s nice and bubbly reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
The cook time will depend on the texture that you prefer your cranberry sauce.
A lesser cook time you’ll have a more whole berry cranberry sauce, and the more it cooks you’ll have a smoother cranberry sauce.
A little extra orange zest over top of keto friendly cranberry sauce makes it extra pretty!
