Blackstone Sausage and Peppers

Blackstone Sausage and Peppers

Blackstone Sausage and Peppers is a quick, easy, and healthy recipe to make on the griddle.

I mention “healthy” because I am using a lean chicken sausage.

The rest of the dish is just veggies and a few simple seasonings.

You could enjoy this as is, or use it to make a sausage and pepper sub.

And you could easily add marinara sauce and/or provolone cheese if desired.

How to Make Blackstone Sausage and Peppers

All you need to start are sausage, two bell peppers (any color works), mushrooms, and onion, and garlic cloves.

ingredients for this meal

Slice the sausage and set out some Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes.

My sausage is already cooked.

If your Italian sausage links are not cooked, just place in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes per side.

Then let them cool before slicing.

sliced sausage and seasoning

Place the sausage slices on a large tray.

Then cut the bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and mince the garlic.

And all the cut veggies go onto the tray as well.

veggies on a tray before cooking

I seasoned before heading out to the Blackstone.

A little less to carry outside 🙂

Sprinkle everything with kosher salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning.

adding Italian seasoning

Preheat the griddle to medium high heat.

And once hot, drizzle some cooking oil (I use vegetable oil) and the sausage and veggies.

This will cook for 8 to 10 minutes.

Of course, flip and stir a few times using hibachi spatulas.

Once the dish is done, simply put it all back on to the same tray.

This works best using the two hibachi spatulas in my opinion.

I hope you enjoy Blackstone Sausage and Peppers as much as my family did 🙂

You could have this meal by itself, or add some marinara sauce and cheese.

Possibly also on a sandwich/ sub bun.
