Air Fryer General Tso Chicken
This Air Fryer General Tso Chicken recipe brings ALL the flavor of takeout, but with none of the deep fried guilt.
General Tso chicken is my go to take out meal of choice, but with all that breading and oil it usually leaves me feeling blah.
This version has crispy air fried chicken, lightly breaded in flour.
Then air fried until golden brown.
And tossed in General Tso sauce from the store.
Yep…not making my own sauce when the store has a perfectly delicious sauce ready to go.
Us home cooks take all the help from the store we can get 😉
Here is how to make Air Fryer General Tso Chicken
This is my breading station for the chicken.
A pound and a half of chicken that I cut into bite size pieces, flour in one bowl, and a beaten egg in another bowl.

Dip each piece of chicken into the egg, then into the flour, and place in the air fryer basket.
Then spray with olive oil cooking spray.

Next set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes, and shake the basket halfway through.

As you can see they turn out golden brown and crisp.

Toss them in some General Tso sauce.
I am using House of Tsang.

In a bowl add the chicken and the sauce, toss until evenly coated.

Serve Air Fryer General Tso Chicken with some rice and broccoli if desired.
And a sprinkle of sesame seeds and green onions.

This looks and tastes even better than the takeout version in my opinion, plus I don’t have any guilt eating twice as much 🙂
