I came up with Air Fryer Chicken Philly Burritos as a last minute dinner, then all was right in our world again.
In addition to running this food blog, I also teach second grade.
Usually I dream in food, but since school started back I have been only dreaming in school stuff.
Therefore I was at a loss with what to make as a last minute dinner yesterday.
My family was slightly worried because I ALWAYS have dinner ideas.
But whew last minute I save the day, but that was a close one 😉
Here is how to make Air Fryer Chicken Philly Burritos
The filling part of these burritos is everything yummy in a chicken philly sandwich.
Chicken, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms all cut into bite size pieces and into a skillet over medium high heat.
Season this mixture with kosher salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and Old Bay seasoning.
You could use regular season salt of you don’t have Old Bay.
This chicken philly filling will cook for about 10 minutes, and stir it a few times as it cooks.
Now for the burrito part of this dish…you will need four burrito size soft tortillas and lay them flat.
In the center of each put two slices of provolone cheese and some queso.
Don’t skip the queso part…it’s what makes these extra creamy and cheesy!
Next pile on a fourth of the chicken philly mixture.
Fold the sides in, then fold the front of the tortilla over the filling and roll into a burrito.
My filling tried to pop out as I rolled, but I just stuffed it all right back in.
Place the burritos in the air fryer basket, seam side down.
And spray lightly with olive oil cooking spray.
Set the air fryer to 370 degrees for 15 minutes.
THIS is what you want to see… golden brown, crispy burritos!
As you can see, my air fryer cooked two at a time.
So I removed these and put the other two in.
By the time we devoured a half of each burrito in the first batch, the second batch was done.
Highly recommend cutting these Air Fryer Chicken Philly Burritos in half and letting them cool first.
These suckers are hot!
