Air Fryer Goat Cheese Bites with Spicy Honey

Air Fryer Goat Cheese Bites with Spicy Honey

Air Fryer Crispy Goat Cheese Bites with Spicy Honey is the perfect appetizer or snack recipe.

Goat cheese and me…we are friends!

But a crispy, crunchy goat cheese bite with a sweet and spicy sauce drizzled over top…we are soulmates đŸ˜‰

They are also a GREAT addition to a charcuterie board with a mix of meats, cheeses, bread, etc. for a fun and simple meal.

And oh my goodness, the goat cheese bites are AMAZING on a salad!

This evening it was just my husband and me so I only made a 4 oz goat cheese log, making about 10 bite size balls.

This recipe can easily be doubled if feeding more than a few.

How to make Air Fryer Goat Cheese Balls

Put the log of goat cheese into a bowl with a Tbsp of minced chives.

Mix this together until evenly combined.

It does help if the goat cheese is at room temp.

Then roll into 10 tiny bite size pieces and freeze them for 45 minutes.

Next set up your breading station like this.

One bowl with a beaten egg and one bowl with panko bread crumbs right next to the air fryer basket.

Dip each into the egg and then into the panko.

And right into the air fryer basket.

Spray lightly with olive oil cooking spray as well.

Set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 6 minutes.

Ahhhh, look how gorgeous!

The cheese kind of oozes out of the golden brown crust looking like pure heaven.

As tempting as it is to grab them up right away, I recommend waiting just a few minutes so they set up a little.

If you grab them right away the chance of losing some of the goat cheese increases.

While the goat cheese was in the air fryer I mixed some honey and Tabasco sauce together to make the perfect sauce for these.

Drizzle some over top right before serving.

You could sprinkle even more chives over top of the Air Fryer Goat Cheese Bites with Spicy Honey to make them even prettier!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz goat cheese (spreadable log, not crumbled) at room temp
  • 1 Tbsp chives minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 to 8 dashes Tabasco sauce (more or less according to taste)

Instructions

  1. Add the goat cheese and chives to a bowl and gently fold until the chives and goat cheese are evenly mixed.

  2. Roll the goat cheese into 10 balls and place on a plate or tray. Put in the freezer for 45 minutes.

  3. Crack the egg in a bowl and beat with a fork. Put the panko bread crumbs in a separate bowl.

  4. Dip each goat cheese ball into the egg and then into the panko, place right into the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with the olive oil spray and set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 6 minutes.

  5. While the goat cheese cooks in the air fryer, mix together the honey and Tabasco sauce.

  6. Let the goat cheese balls sit in the air fryer for a few minutes before removing them (they easily fall apart the first few minutes), then serve with the spicy honey drizzled over top.
