Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Kale Chips

Usually I bake them in the oven, but today I thought of a recipe for Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Kale Chips and my world was instantly changed.

I will be honest and say kale chips never sounded good to me.

My twenty four year old daughter eats VERY healthy and kale chips are something she loves.

So of course I make them for her.

Literally only three minutes in the air fryer and they are crisped to perfection 🙂

How to make Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Kale Chips

The first step is breaking apart a bunch of kale and placing it in the air fryer basket.

I actually had some kale leftover from making Italian Sausage and Kale Soup.

Always a bonus when you can use up any leftovers 🙂

The next step is spraying the kale lightly with some olive oil cooking spray.

Then a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper.

Set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 3 minutes.

Yes, some of the edges get a little darker than others. But, hey, that happens when you bake them too.

It all depends on how thin those outer parts are.

I at least assure you they do not taste bad at all.

I will tell you, because of the parmesan and garlic your kitchen will smell fabulous as they cook.

Imagine the look of disappointment my husband had when he said “Oh, that smells delicious” and I responded with “They are kale chips” 😉

They are not really his thing, but my daughter and I loved them!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch kale
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 tsps grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • kosher salt, pepper

Instructions

  1. Break the kale into chip size pieces and place them in the air fryer in a single layer.

    Note: Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make these in two batches.

  2. Spray the olive oil cooking spray lightly on the kale. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, garlic powder, kosher salt, and pepper.

  3. Set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 3 minutes.

  4. Remove from the air fryer basket and serve.
