Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

When my daughter’s boyfriend said Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings were his favorite wing, I knew I had to make them for him, I actually made them on my Traeger pellet grill/ smoker but the oven works too.

So the more I got to know my daughter’s boyfriend, the more I asked questions about his favorite foods.

You know…to show him that I care 🙂

I really think that food is my love language.

If I love you, I show you by making your favorite food.

How to make Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings

The marinade that I came up with is very similar to my Sweet Lemon Chicken.

Sweet Lemon Chicken

It’s fresh lemon juice, soy sauce, lemon pepper seasoning, brown sugar, and some crushed red pepper flakes.

For the marinade I squeezed three lemons right into a measuring cup to make sure I had half of a cup.

I figured why not just make the rest of marinade right in the measuring cup, one less dish to wash, right?!

Place four pounds of wings into a gallon size plastic bag along with the marinade.

Then place in the fridge to marinate several hours or overnight.

Putting the plastic bag in a bowl is good idea just in case of a leak.

Once you remove them from the marinade, sprinkle more lemon pepper seasoning on all sides.

We opted to smoke these wings, but they can for sure be baked as well.

If you bake them I recommend on a wire baking rack over a lined baking sheet for 45 minutes.

If smoking them, set the Traeger or smoker to 250 degrees and they take about two and a half hours.

And THIS is what you’ll see when they are ready!

A gorgeous golden lemony brown color that also smells amazing!

Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings were a hit for our Sunday Funday family dinner.

A little squeeze of lemon over top makes them extra lemony 🙂
