Italian Egg Rolls
I love a good Italian sub and also love a good egg roll! So why not combine the two into one recipe for Italian Egg Rolls, right?!
Makes perfect sense to me 🙂
One of our favorite restaurants that my husband and I go to has these things called Twisters.
It’s different lunchmeat and cheese combos made into egg rolls.
There’s a turkey and pepperjack one with bacon, which is our favorite.
A ham and swiss, and also a Reuben twister.
We always said they should have an Italian one.
So we decided to make our own at home 🙂
How to make them
Starting with an egg roll wrapper laying flat, add the Italian meats.
I went with prosciutto, salami, and pepperoni.
Then place a cheese stick over top of the meats and some pepperoncini slices.
A little sprinkle of Italian seasoning and it’s ready to roll.

You’ll want to dip your finger in some water and trace the edges of the wrapper.
This will create almost like a glue to seal it up so no oil leaks in.

Fold the sides in.

Roll the front part of the egg roll wrapper over the filling.

Then just roll it up into an adorable little egg roll like this 🙂

Fill a small skillet with vegetable oil about 1 inch deep.
Place it over medium heat for 5 minutes. Check with an instant read thermometer.
When it’s right around 350 degrees gently place 2-3 egg rolls.
Cook 1-2 minutes per side.
Lay on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
Repeat with the remaining egg rolls.

Serve these Italian Egg Rolls with some marinara or pizza sauce for dipping.
I had a last minute thought of sprinkling the outside with parmesan cheese right after removing from the oil.
Darn it…will have to try that next time I make these 🙂
