Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken
Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken is one of those easy recipes that’s a busy mom’s best friend 🙂
On the weekends I love spending time in my kitchen, making fun and creative dishes.
On the weekdays, however, I want to come home from work and make a simple dinner as quickly as possible.
THIS is one of those recipes I am sharing with you today.
How to make Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken
The marinade for this Ginger Garlic Chicken is very simple.
Marinate it in a plastic gallon size bag and it’s even better…no cleanup!
Into a bag put the chicken, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic paste, and ginger paste.
Add some crushed red pepper if you like a little spice.
Toss it all around until evenly mixed.
Place it in the fridge to marinate overnight 🙂
When you are ready to bake it, simply lay the chicken in a baking pan lined with foil.
The foil makes this basically a no clean up dinner…genius! I sprinkled just a little salt over all sides.
The soy sauce does add a saltiness already, but for me it needed just a bit more salt.
This Garlic Ginger Chicken bakes for 45-50 minutes in a 400 degree oven.
Check with an instant read thermometer to make sure it’s 170 degrees.
It comes out sticky and caramelized golden brown.
Warning: you will need a few extra napkins for this dinner, but totally worth it!
Sprinkle some sesame seeds over top if desired.
Or even some Sriracha drizzled over top would be amazing!
My son was thrilled when I served him this Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken!
And yes, he even ate every bite of his Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Asparagus.
This sweet smile is a beautiful thing to see when dinner is served 🙂

Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken
Such an easy, flavorful, and delicious weeknight meal
Ingredients
- 6 chicken legs
- 2 Tbsps brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp ginger paste
- 1 Tbsp garlic paste
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes to add spice
- kosher salt
- Optional: sesame seeds
Instructions

Place the chicken legs in a bowl or gallon size plastic bag. Add the brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger paste, garlic paste and the crushed red pepper flakes if using. Toss until evenly coated. Marinate at least 1 hour or overnight.

Lay the chicken in a baking pan lined with foil. Sprinkle with just a small amount of kosher salt on all sides.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 45-50 minutes. Serve with sesame seeds sprinkled over top if desired.
