Crispy Air Fryer Catfish with Creole Mustard
Raise your hand if you’re on this air fryer bandwagon like me! If so you’ll love this recipe for Crispy Air Fryer Catfish with Creole Mustard.
The simple cornmeal breading mixed with some cajun seasoning creates a delicious and crispy crust in the air fryer.
The creole mustard just makes this air fryer catfish even more special.

Making the Crispy Air Fryer Catfish
Cut 1 pound of catfish fillets in half lengthwise.
Put them in a bowl with some buttermilk, or milk, and some hot sauce.
When you are ready to bread the catfish, combine cornmeal and cajun seasoning in a bowl.
Remove a piece of catfish from the milk and place it into the cajun cornmeal, pressing it into the fish slightly.
Spray the top with a little olive oil cooking spray.

Simply set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 14 minutes, and that’s basically all the work you’ll do.
Let the air fryer do the rest while you go relax…well, for 14 minutes anyway 😉

Keep in mind, though, you’re not going to get anything as crispy as if you deep fry it…but this is darn close.
And worth it because you’re saving lots of fat and calories by using the air fryer.
Serve this crispy air fryer catfish with the creole mustard sauce and enjoy!
This would also be really good served on a bun or some rye bread as a catfish sandwich 🙂
