BLT Salad with Cottage Cheese Ranch is a healthy, easy recipe and can even be meal prepped for those extra busy weeks.
Homemade salad dressings are so much tastier and much better for ya.
By starting with cottage cheese it even increses your protein, which is always a plus.
How to make BLT Salad with Cottage Cheese Ranch
Start with cottage cheese, buttermilk, and dry ranch seasoning of choice in a food processor or blender.

Add a little kosher salt and pepper, and some fresh herbs if you have them.
I had parsley, chives, and basil in my garden so I figured they would be a good addition.

And just blend until smooth.

I made a few slices of bacon on my Blackstone E-series Indoor Griddle.
Usually I cut the bacon into bite size pieces, but cooking the slices on the griddle is super easy.

While the bacon was griddling away, I chopped some lettuce and slices grape tomatoes for the salads.
I had a whole rotisserie chicken from Costco so I topped the salads with that as well.

BLT Salad with Cottage Cheese Ranch
BLT Salad with Cottage Cheese Ranch is a fresh, healthy recipe with high protein dressing made with cottage cheese!
Ingredients
- 4 to 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs of choice (optional)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dry Ranch seasoning
- kosher salt, pepper
- 6 cups chopped lettuce or salad mix of choice
- 1 cup grape tomatoes cut in half
- 1 cup cooked, chopped chicken (optional)
Instructions

Preheat a skillet or griddle to medium low. Use kitchen scissors to cut bacon into bite size pieces right into the skillet or griddle. Cook 7 to 9 minutes, mixing a few times. Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess grease.

Put cottage cheese, buttermilk, fresh herbs if using, ranch seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper in food processor or blender. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute.

Divide lettuce between 2 bowls or plates and top each with tomatoes, bacon, chicken (if using), and cottage cheese ranch dressing.
