Air Fryer Mummy Dogs
Air Fryer Mummy Dogs are a quick and easy (and adorable) kid friendly recipe.
I do not claim to have come up with this idea, as I have seen pictures of hot dogs “dressed” as mummies before.
But…I did have the idea to cook them in the air fryer 🙂
I am certainly not the crafty type, so my husband was quite confused when I ordered plastic eyes from Amazon.
Even assured him that the eyes were for food…to which he became even more confused.
But he was a huge fan of these mummy dogs and of course the kids were too!
How to Make Air Fryer Mummy Dogs
Start with a pack of hot dogs and crescent rolls.
Lay the crescent rolls flat and cut them into thin strips with a pizza cutter.
Then wrap each hot dog with the thin strips to look like a mummy.
Leave a little space where the eyes will go, but other than that wrap and overlap the strips a few times.
Next brush them with butter on all sides.
The butter is both for flavor and the underside will help prevent the mummy dogs from sticking to the air fryer.
Place them in the air fryer and set it to 370 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes.
Mine made 4 dogs at once so I did them in two batches. If you have a larger air fryer you can cook them all at once.
They are nice and golden brown and perfectly cooked.
In order to get the eyes to fit you may have to separate the space left from when wrapping them slightly.
Place two eyes on each Air Fryer Mummy Dog for the cutest presentation ever!
The kids went crazy over these.
They were a little disappointed that the eyes were not edible, but still devoured these in record time.

Air Fryer Mummy Dogs
Air Fryer Mummy Dogs are hot dogs wrapped with strips of crescent rolls and cooked in the air fryer, add plastic eyes to look like a mummy
Ingredients
- 1 package crescent rolls
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 Tbsp melted butter
- Optional: plastic eyes (do not eat), ketchup, mustard
Instructions
-
Lay the crescent roll dough flat and cut into thin strips (I had the best luck using a pizza cutter).
-
Wrap the strips of crescent dough around each hot dog to look like a mummy. Leave a small gap where eyes will be placed.
-
Brush all sides with melted butter and place in the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 370 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes.
Note: I did mine in 2 batches because of my air fryer size.
-
Place two plastic eyes for presentation and then serve with ketchup or mustard if desired for dipping. Separate the space left for the eyes so they fit if needed.
Note: Remove eyes before eating.
