“Mom, you’re gonna give me credit on your website for these Flaming Hot Cheeto Cheese Sticks, right?!” was the hilarious question from my son.

“Yes, buddy, of course” was my answer because he did in fact come up with this genius snack idea.

We were walking through the grocery store and he saw the hot Cheetos and was like “We gotta make cheese sticks with these!!!”

His mind apparently works just like mine when it comes to food.

I helped him turn his idea into reality and he was thrilled 🙂

How to Make Flaming Hot Cheeto Cheese Sticks

We used mozzarella string cheese sticks.

If these didn’t work I was going to try a block of mozzarella cut into sticks, but they were perfect.

Unwrap six mozzarella sticks to start.

And cut them in half.

Then freeze them for an hour.

Freezing because the cheese would melt away at room temp before the breading had a chance to crisp in the air fryer.

And for the breading, my friends…the star of the show here…Flaming Hot Cheetos 🙂

Crush the Cheetos either in a food processor or put them in a bag and use a rolling pin to turn them into crumbs.

Crack an egg in one bowl and put the crumbs in another bowl for our breading station.

Dip each one into the egg and then into the Cheeto crumbs.

Press the crumbs slightly so they stick and then into the air fryer basket.

Spray with olive oil spray to help them crisp up beautifully and then set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 6 minutes.

They come out crisp on the outside and melty ooey gooey on the inside!

Dip your Flaming Hot Cheeto Cheese Sticks in ranch for the ultimate snack experience!

For sure serve these right away so the cheese stays melted.

I promise they won’t last too long, we couldn’t shovel them in fast enough 😉
