Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

It hit me that a recipe for Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings would be pretty darn amazing.

The way to my heart is anything that has a sweet and spicy flavor combo.

I fell in love with Honey Sriracha Salmon a few weeks ago and I HAD to try it on wings.

How to make Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Bonus is that I got to use my Garlic Sriracha seasoning that I picked up not too long ago!

If you don’t have this seasoning or something similar, substitute with 1 Tbsp garlic powder and 1 tsp ground red pepper.

I tossed the chicken wings in some olive oil, the Garlic Sriracha seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper.

Then place them on a wire baking rack over a lined baking sheet.

Trust me…you’re going to be glad you lined the baking sheet.

It gets a sticky mess at the end. Stay tuned…you’ll see 🙂

The parchment paper will save you a lot of clean up.

Place the chicken wings in a 425 degree oven for 40 minutes, flip them halfway through cooking.

This is what you’ll see. Crispy golden brown deliciousness and we haven’t even added the BEST part yet!

The Honey Sriracha sauce!!!

The sauce is mostly honey, with a few tablespoons of Sriracha and soy sauce.

Whisk it together and that’s it 🙂

Brush the sauce over top and cook 5-8 more minutes.

Flip and brush again for another 5-8 minutes.

I went for more on the 8 minute end because I love a charred skin.

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds jumbo split chicken wings
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps Garlic Sriracha seasoning (or substitute 1 Tbsp garlic powder and 1 tsp ground red pepper)
  • kosher salt, pepper
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2-4 Tbsps Sriracha (more or less according to spice preference)
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Pat the wings dry with paper towels, place them in a large bowl. Add the olive oil, Garlic Sriracha seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, Sriracha and soy sauce. Set aside.

  3. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Place a wire baking rack over the baking sheet. Lay the wings in a single layer on the baking rack.
  4. Bake the wings in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes, flip them and cook 20 more minutes. Brush the wings with the Honey Sriracha sauce, cook 5-8 minutes. Flip and brush them again, cook 5-8 more minutes.

Note: These can also be cooked in the smoker at 250 degrees for 2 and a half hours, flipping halfway through. Brush wings with the Honey Sriracha sauce during the last 20 minutes. Use a thermometer to make sure they are at 170 degrees.

  5. Brush the wings with more Honey Sriracha Sauce and serve.
