My daughter works at a pizza place here in town and she’s always bringing home different creations. So one night she came home from work with a chicken pesto pizza.
My husband tried it and fell in love…that’s where the inspiration came for this pizza recipe.
My version also has sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, and fresh basil on top.
Every year I get tons of fresh basil in my garden and make huge batches of Homemade Basil Pesto.
I freeze the pesto to use throughout the year.
How to make Chicken Pesto Pizza
You could certainly use store bought pesto if you don’t have some already in your freezer.
Just spread it evenly on the pizza crust.
I make my life easy and buy the dough from the pizza place whenever I make pizzas or flatbreads.
Most grocery stores have frozen dough, you could buy an already cooked pizza crust.
Or you could be adventurous and make your own.
Lots of mozzarella cheese goes on the pesto.
Then already cooked shredded chicken, sundried tomatoes, and goat cheese crumbles.
I make Shredded Chicken on the weekends to have ready to use for the week in salads, wraps, or in this case…pizza 🙂
This beauty went into a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Melty ooey gooey cheesy deliciousness 🙂
There is just something extra special about homemade pizza night at home!
A little fresh basil over top and Chicken Pesto Pizza is ready!
