Air Fryer Crab Cake Stuffed Jalapenos

Air Fryer Crab Cake Stuffed Jalapenos

This recipe for air fryer crab cake stuffed jalapenos combines two of my all time favorite appetizers!

Stuffed jalapenos in my opinion are the ultimate game day snack and I have many variations done in both the smoker and air fryer.

But my tried and true crab cakes are always a hit anytime I serve them with the old Bay aioli dipping sauce.

So I thought in my crazy mind why not combine these two recipe gems into one amazing snack or appetizer!?!?

How to make air fryer crab cake stuffed jalapenos

This recipe does require a little prep work before stuffing the jalapenos and leaving the rest of the work to the air fryer.

But the crab cake filling can easily be made ahead of time if needed.

First we will make the crab cake filling which starts with a skillet over medium heat.

Add some olive oil, diced onions and red peppers, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes.

Let the peppers and onions cook for a few minutes and then add in some garlic, lemon juice, and old bay seasoning.

Crab cake ingredients

Let the pepper and onion mixture cool before adding in some jumbo lump crab meat, two eggs, and panko bread crumbs.

I used 12 ounces of canned crab meat and made sure to drain the cans very well of any extra liquid.

Mix this together gently with your hands and now we are ready to stuff some jalapenos!

Crab cake mixture before combining

Slice 10 to 12 jalapenos in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scrape out the seeds and white ribs.

I like using kitchen gloves for this task because my skin is super sensitive to jalapeno seeds.

Then just use your hands to stuff each jalapeno half with the crab cake mixture and top each off with even more of that magical old Bay seasoning.

Stuffed crab cakes before putting in the air fryer

Place the jalapenos in the air fryer basket set to 400 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes.

As the jalapenos were doing their thing in the air fryer I made a sauce to go over top.

Simply mix together mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, hot sauce, and old Bay seasoning.
