This Buttermilk Ranch Chicken recipe will be your new best friend!
This could quite possibly be the best weeknight dinner idea of all time!
It takes 5 minutes to throw together, the kids love it, and it’s amazingly delicious.
Especially if you are a busy, working mom like me.
How to Make Buttermilk Ranch Chicken
The night before you serve it, whisk together 2 cups of buttermilk, a packet of dry ranch seasoning, and a few dashes of hot sauce.
Leave out the hot sauce if you prefer, my kids like a little spice and it gives some extra flavor as well.
Pour this mixture over top of 2 pounds of chicken.
We used chicken drumsticks (or chicken drummies as they are known in my house), but thighs or bone in breasts would be just as good.
These chicken drumsticks fit perfectly in a 9×13 dish, and the marinade is thick enough that I didn’t even have to turn the chicken.
Cover with foil, place in the fridge for the following night’s dinner.
Ok, fast forward 24 hours…remove each piece of chicken from the buttermilk mixture and place on a lined baking sheet.
A good amount of buttermilk still sticks to the chicken.
Sprinkle each piece, on all sides, with kosher salt, pepper, and another packet of dry ranch seasoning.
Bake in a 425 degree oven for 40-45 minutes and dinner is done!
The first time I made them my kids asked when we could have Buttermilk Ranch Chicken again 🙂
Easy, somewhat healthy, delicious, and everyone loves it = winner winner chicken dinner 🙂
(sorry, I had too 😉 )
