Shrimp Tacos with Peanut Sauce
Without hesitation my daughter requested this Shrimp Tacos with Peanut Sauce recipe!
My gorgeous, talented, kind hearted, amazing daughter said she wanted to come by for a visit with her old momma!
Well of course I told her I would make her whatever she wanted to eat.
How to Make this Shrimp Tacos with Peanut Sauce recipe
I was not only thrilled that she was visiting, but also because these Shrimp Tacos are also one of my favorites.
The shrimp marinade is easy enough.
Soy sauce, lime juice, garlic paste and ginger paste.
I feel like the garlic and ginger pastes stick to the shrimp much better than minced, but use minced if that’s what you prefer of course.
The shrimp will soak up all these flavors for about 30 minutes, marinating more than that will actually make them tough.
Then place them onto a lined baking sheet and into a 400 degree oven for about 8 to 9 minutes.
While the shrimp are in the oven I prepare the toppings…red pepper, cilantro, shredded red cabbage and carrots, and chopped peanuts.
These adorable bowls from Pampered Chef were just delivered and I was excited to use them.
I also made peanut sauce by whisking together peanut butter, soy sauce, garlic and ginger paste, and lime juice.
You could also use a store bought peanut sauce.
It takes a minute to come together, just be patient 🙂
I set out all of the yumminess and let everyone build their own Shrimp Tacos with Peanut Sauce.
Everyone gets what they want and less work for me 😉
Kind of like a build your own taco bar.
I put a little of everything on mine, and my favorite is the crunch from the chopped peanuts and the fresh cilantro!

Shrimp Tacos with Peanut Sauce
Delicious and easy shrimp tacos with a yummy peanut sauce
Ingredients
Shrimp Tacos
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic paste
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger paste
- 1/2 Tbsp lime juice
- 1 pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
- 8 fajita size soft tortillas
- 1 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 cup thinly sliced red pepper
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup shredded red cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
Peanut Sauce
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup sweet Thai chili sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic paste
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger paste
- 1/2 Tbsp lime juice
Instructions
Shrimp Tacos

In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, garlic paste, ginger paste, and lime juice. Add the shrimp and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for 30 minutes.

Place the shrimp on a lined baking sheet. Place in a 400 degree oven for 6 to 8 minutes.

Assemble the tacos by placing shrimp in the center of the tortilla. Top with cilantro, red pepper, carrots, cabbage, and chopped peanuts. Drizzle peanut sauce over top (either store bought peanut sauce, or recipe below).

In a bowl, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, sweet Thai chili sauce, garlic paste, ginger paste, and lime juice.
